Letters have continuously evolved in response to the technologies and mediums of their time. From characters carved into stone and movable type arranged for printing, to digital letters rendered in pixels and vector fonts that can expand freely across different environments. Through the transformation of a single Korean character, “한,” we visualized the evolution of typography alongside technology. This concept reflects JikjiSoft’s vision: to carry forward the spirit and technological legacy behind the world’s earliest surviving book printed with movable metal type, while continuing to evolve flexibly in an ever-changing environment. We also structured JikjiSoft’s extensive collection of fonts and content into an intuitive card-based system, making its assets easier to explore and creating more opportunities for users to discover a broader range of content.

글자는 시대의 기술과 매체에 따라 새로운 모습으로 변화해 왔습니다. 돌에 새겨 기록하던 문자에서 활자를 배열하는 조판 기술로, 픽셀로 표현되는 디지털 문자를 거쳐 자유롭게 확장되는 벡터 폰트까지. 하나의 ‘한’이 서로 다른 방식으로 구현되는 모습을 통해 글자와 기술이 함께 진화해 온 과정을 표현했습니다. 이는 세계 최초의 금속활자본을 탄생시킨 정신과 기술을 계승하며, 빠르게 변화하는 환경에 유연하게 대응하고 발전해 나가는 직지소프트의 방향성을 담고 있습니다. 또한 직지소프트가 보유한 다양한 폰트와 콘텐츠 자산을 카드 형태로 구조화해 직관적으로 탐색할 수 있도록 구성하고, 사용자가 자연스럽게 더 넓은 범위의 콘텐츠를 발견할 수 있도록 탐색 경험을 확장했습니다.
